There are two major ways which you can use to fix the problem of text message delivered but not received, and they are as follows;
1. Fix text message delivered but not received by clearing cache
This is the first and foremost you need to do by clearing cache from your message app. This usually fix the problem when a message delivered but not received.
To get started, open the settings app, scroll down to app and open it. Now search for messages or you can scroll down to messages and open it.
Tap storage and look below your screen, you will see clear cache button. Kindly tap on the button and clear cache from the message app. Now send a message to your number(phone) and check if it will be received in your mobile phone.
2. Clear data from the message app
If clearing cache doesn’t fix the problem of text message delivered but not received, then you have to clear data from the message app.
Please don’t be afraid of clearing data from your message app as it won’t delete any messages or contacts saved in your mobile phone but will only refresh and reset the message app.
Open the settings app and scroll down to app, open apps and search for messages.
Open messages and tap on storage, look below your screen and you will see clear data button. Kindly tap on clear data and your message app will reset back to it’s original state.
This should definitely fix the problem of text message delivered but not received on your mobile phone.
3. Change default message app
I noticed that most android users that complain that sms delivered but not received are mostly caused by the default message app and changing the default message app fix the problem of text message delivered but not received.
Now the question is;
How do i change the default message app on my android phone?
It’s so simple, you have to download and install the Google messages app on your android phone. Open the google messages and it will request that you set it as your default message app, kindly do that.
Now you have to send a text message to your number and check if the sent message will be received in your mobile phone. Definitely this should fix the problem of text message delivered but not received unless you have to reset your mobile phone.
Before you go on to reset your mobile phone, first reset your phone network settings.
Get started by opening the settings app and scroll down to about phone. Tap to open and click on the reset link or you can search for reset network settings and you should find it.
Now open reset network settings and tap on the button to reset your phone network settings. This is another method to fix text message delivered but not received but if it didn’t fix the problem, then you don’t have any other option than to reset your phone.

Can a message Say delivered but not be?
A message cannot say delivered while it is not, when a message say delivered, it simply means the message has truly being delivered to the recipient number(phone).
However, a message bug can make a sent text message to show delivered while it is not but this is very rare to see. When a text message says delivered it is truly delivered to the recipient, but if the recipient says he or she didn’t receive the sent message, then the problem is caused by the recipient phone.

What does it mean when a message just says delivered?
When a message says delivered it simply means the message was successfully sent and the recipient has received the sent message on it’s mobile phone.
In the case of text message delivered but not received, this is caused by the recipient phone and clearing data and cache or changing the default message app helps to fix the problem.
Will it say not delivered if I’m blocked?
No, it will never say delivered if you are blocked. As long as you are blocked both text messages and imessage will never get delivered because the messages didn’t go through.
