How to enable delivery report on android phone
In some android phones, by default if a text message is sent to a recipient and text message was successfully delivered to the recipient, it will display message delivered.
While in most android phones, you have to first enable the delivery report feature in order to see it after sending a text message.
For this tutorial I will be using the samsung phone default text message and the popular Google text message app.
Before i start, I want samsung phone users running on android 10 below that there’s no way to enable the delivery report on their phones, I’m saying this based on my experience with my old Samsung Galaxy s9 plus. You have to download the google message app to get a delivery report.
Now let’s proceed.
Open the settings app and tap on hamburger menu or the three dot icon located at the top right corner of your screen.
On tapping on the hamburger menu, you will see list of options including settings.
Kindly tap tap settings, more settings and on the next window tap on text messages. Right there you will see the option that states Show when delivered just like on the screen below.
Toggle on the button to turn on delivery report on your samsung phone.
As you have successfully enabled the delivery report on your samsung phone, immediately you send a text message to a user, it will show delivered if the text message was delivered to the recipient.
This implies the recipient indeed received the text message or got the text message.

To know if a text message was sent on iphone, look at the sent text message and you will see delivered below your screen.
Once it shows delivered below the sent text message, you should know the text message was successfully sent and the recipient has received the text message.
However, this is only applicable to iMessage as the sms green text message on iPhone don’t have a delivery report just like it is on android phone.

But when delivery report is enabled on a mobile phone, it must show delivered to indicate the sent text message has been successfully sent and received by the recipient on it’s cellphone.

Sent as text message doesn’t mean blocked on iphone or even on android phone. Rather it simply means the message was sent using the cellular network because the recipient doesn’t have an imessage on it’s phone.
If the recipient is using an iPhone, then it simply means that the phone number you are sending the message is not linked or activated with IMessage.
On android, the case is different unless after many hours the message isn’t delivered and after several tries still not delivered, it may indicate you’re blocked by the recipient.
If you send a text message to someone and it didn’t get delivered, you tried sending another text message still it didn’t get delivered, all you need to do is to call the person.
If the call didn’t go through, use another phone number unknown to the recipient to call him or her. If this time the text message or the call went through, then it simply means the person indeed blocked your number.

To know if text message was delivered to a recipient, check the delivery report or look at sent message details to see if you will see delivered.
First, you must enable delivery report on your message app else you won’t see a delivery report after you have sent a text message. Scroll up and you will see how to enable delivery report on your mobile phone.
