Now looking into the reasons one after the other.

1. You may have been tricked by the recipient

Lot’s of people are now fond of doing this, tricking people or callers into believing that their phone number is no longer in service text message, however, that’s a false notice.

If you kept on calling a particular number on your phone contact or sending a text message and it kept on returning with this error message of this number is no longer in service text message, you simply have to do this.

Use another phone number to call or send a text message to that very contact.

If it goes through, then be rest assured that you have been tricked by that very person in your phone contact into believing that it’s mobile phone number is not in service.

2. The recipient may have been blocked

This is one major reason behind the error message of this number is no longer in service text message.

If a person’s phone number or phone is blocked by the network provider due to non payment of phone bill, calls and text messages might not go through to the person phone number.

In most cases what you will hear is this number is no longer in service or the phone number is blocked.

Blocked in this aspect doesn’t mean you’re the one that blocked the contact, but rather the network provider did.

The network provider blocking or disconnecting a phone user will warrant this error message while trying to call or send a text message to the user.

3. Poor network reception

Poor network reception might prompt such error message while trying to send a text message or call someone. If the recipient is within a location or an environment where there is a poor network coverage, it can lead to this number is no longer in service text message.

These are the major causes of this error message while trying to reach someone via text messages or calls.

What is the solution to this?

It’s so simple.

By using an instant messaging apps

You have to use any of the instant messaging apps through Wi-Fi to contact the person and check if it will go through. The instant messaging apps I recommend includes whatsapp, Skype sms feature and the google voice.

For sending a text message, kindly use google voice or Skype sms to send a text message. For calls I recommend any of Skype, whatsapp, or the google voice.

But I will advise you to use the google voice as it will assign a number immediately you created your account, and you can call anybody with the number. That is to say the person must not be on google voice in order to receive your calls or text messages.

This is where Google voice bears the likes of whatsapp, Skype, Facebook messenger, telegram, the imessage hands down.

For ios users, you can use the imessage if the recipient is another ios user.

Is there a way to text a number that blocked you?

To text a number that blocked you, you simply have to use another phone number to text the person, or use instant messaging to send a message to the number.

Is there a way to text a number that blocked you

In this type of situation, I recommend you to use google voice as it will assign a phone number to you. Since you still have the number of the person that blocked you on it’s mobile phone, you will use the google voice to call or send a text message to the person.

The best part is that the person must not have or use the google voice in order to receive your text messages or calls.

So all you need to do is to download and install the Google voice app on your mobile phone, sign up and receive your phone number, and you’re good to go.

With the google voice, you can send a text message to a number that blocked you, but rest assured that the person might also block your google voice assigned number unless you will be creating multiple Google voice accounts.

How do you tell if someone blocked your number without texting them?

Without texting the number, you have to call the number to verify if truly the person has blocked your number. The only options to know if you have been blocked by a user is through texting or calling the number.

If you don’t want to text the person or the number, then you don’t have any other questions option than to call the number.

Upon calling the number and it didn’t go through, after multiple trials then be rest assured that the recipient has truly blocked your number.

In some cases they light use this error message of this number is no longer in service text message to trick you into believing that their phone number is no longer in service or available.

The number you have messaged is not connected

This happens if the number has been disconnected by the network service provider or the number is no longer in service.

If a phone number has been idle for a long period of time without making or receiving calls, the network service provider will disconnect the sim card and as well as the phone number linked to the sim card.

In turn this will make the phone number to be offline or not in service and if you happe to send a text message to the phone number all you will be getting will be the number you have messaged is not connected.

The number you have called is not assigned

This occurs if the phone number you are calling no longer belong to any phone user or not in existence.

This also applies when a cell phone number has been disconnected by the network service provider. If a sim card also expired it will show the number you have called is not assigned when trying to contact the phone number.

So if you happen to see the cellular number is not assigned kindly note that it means nobody is using the phone number for calls, text messages or cellular data.

Why did I get a text saying this number is no longer in service? It means the phone number is no longer in existence and not working anymore. Maybe the previous user has gotten a new SIM card and cellphone number, or probably the person is no more and also with the sim card and the phone number linked to the sim.
