To save contacts to sim card on android phone, get started by opening the phone app and enter the contact phone number.
Look at the top of your screen and you will see where it states add to contacts, tap on it and select create new contact.
On the next screen is where to enter the name of the contact, where to save the contact plus other settings.
Looking at the top left corner of your screen, you will see options to save the contact and by default it will be your Gmail account just like on the picture below.
To select your preferred option to save the contact, tap on the drop down menu located at the left corner of your screen like on the picture above.
Kindly tap on google and select sim card or phone. When you have done that, go ahead and save the contact.

To transfer contacts from iPhone to sim card, kindly open your app store and search for Mcbackup or probably download and install it using the link below.
Open the app on your iPhone and tap on next until you get to the homepage or probably skip the process and move straight to the app homepage.
On the homepage, tap on the backup button just like on the picture below.
As you tap on the backup button, what follows next will be to tap on the backup Now button and on the next screen kindly select Backup Contact as vCard.
It will backup your contacts as vCard.
Once completed and still on the screen, tap on my backup button and right there you will see your backup based on the date you did the backup.
As you have seen your backup contacts, tap on the three dots or circle just like on the screen below to save your backup contacts on your iPhone.
Kindly tap on the three dots and select save to files. You can chose to rename the backup files as my contacts or any of your preferred name and tap on the save button locate at the top right corner of your screen.
For now don’t save the backup files on your iCloud as you have to select on my iPhone.
Open files app on your iPhone and make sure the contact backup is right inside the files app.
Noe you have to open your safari browser, any other browser or probably Google Gmail app as you have to import the backup contact to your Gmail account.
Please if you don’t have a Gmail account please kindly create one and it will not take you more than five minutes to create or open a Gmail account for yourself.
Go to https://contacts.google.com/, tap on import contacts and also tap on the select file button.
Now you have to select the backup contacts on your iPhone by tapping on the file and finally tap on the import button.
You are almost there.
If you open your iPhone phone app, you will find out that the contacts are still not there. So what you have to do is to go to the settings app, scroll down to contact and tap to open.
On the options shown to you, right there you will see Accounts just like on the picture below.
Tap on account and tap add account.
You have to select Google and enter your Gmail account or Google account email address and password and tap and tap on the next button.
Select every settings or options shown to you including notes unless you don’t want to and go back to the settings app. Now close the app and go you contact app, right there you will see all your contacts and which will be saved on your sim card.
If your sim card cannot contain all the contacts, they will be saved on the phone memory.
How to check if contacts are on sim card on samsung
To check if contacts are on sim card on samsung, open any of the contact and edit the contact. Right there you will see if the contact is saved in on sim card, phone or Gmail account.

Once you have clicked on the info icon, you will see an edit button. Go ahead and tap on the edit button and right there you will see if contact is saved on your phone, sim card or probably Gmail account.

One major disadvantage is that you will have to manually check the contacts one after the other which is time consuming.

No, contacts are not automatically saved to sim card but rather they are automatically saved to phone memory on iphone, or to Google account on android phone.
Even the likes of feature phones do save contacts to phone memory instead of sim card.
It is left for user to select sim card while saving a contact but this is only available on android phone and feature phone. You can’t see such on iphone as there’s no provision to save contacts on sim card if you are using iPhone.
Should i save contacts to sim card or phone?
I recommend saving contacts to sim card as you can backup your sim contacts and restore them even when you have lost the sim card or do a sim swap.
However, I prefer saving a contact to an email address though one must be very careful as to prevent the email address from being hacked.
Like I said earlier on, all my contacts are saved on my Gmail account and I can easily access them without switching sim cards or copying them from my old phone to my new phone.
On android, once I use my Gmail account as my google account on my android phone, all my contacts will immediately display on my contact app. While on my iPhone, I will only need to add my google account to contact and I’m good to go.
