Phone rings twice then cuts off causes
This usually occurs when you have enabled the volte network feature on your mobile phone, be it android or the iPhone in the case of an incoming call. It is also caused when incoming call barring is enabled on a mobile phone and this is very popular on android phone.
The first explanation I gave was the reason I had the problem of phone rings twice then cuts off, and it was so easy to resolve. You don’t have to bother yourself resetting a phone or your phone network settings.
Kindly note that if this happens to be a number unknown to you, it is likely to be a scam call and you shouldn’t call back. A typical example of a scam call is to ring once or twice and then cuts.
Again I want you to know that a poor network connection can also cause this type of problem. Now I will explain then one after the other and how you can solve the problem on your mobile phone.
How to fix phone rings twice then cuts off
Lets proceed to that.
1. Disabling volte network on your mobile phone
This is usually the major problem or causes of phone rings twice then cuts off, the volte network.
Once you have this enabled on your mobile phone, there’s a high tendency that you will start to experience incoming call errors especially when there’s a poor network coverage or signal in your area.
So how do you solve this problem?
It’s so simple.
All you need to do is to disable volte network on your mobile phone and you’re good to go.
You get started by opening the settings app, and go to the mobile network or connection depending on the type of phone you’re using.
In the mobile network section, you will see volte call though it depends on your service network provider and the type of phone you’re using.
Now if you have seen that the volte network is enabled on your phone, kindly disable it because it is most likely to be the cause of the problem of phone rings twice then cuts off.
Once you have disabled the volte network feature on your mobile phone, try to call your phone number and you will see it will ring normal. You won’t experience the issue of phone rings twice then cuts off.
However, if still this didn’t solve your problem or you don’t have the volte network feature on your mobile phone, let’s proceed to the next solution.

2. Disable incoming call barring
Another culprit we have here is the call barring and it is mostly common on android phone. Once you have enabled call on your android phone, you will start having incoming call issues and this very phone rings twice then cuts off is among them.

It’s so simple and easy.
Get started by first opening the call or phone app on your mobile phone, and tap on the hamburger menu icon and select settings.
Look closely and you will see supplementary services a if you are using a Samsung Galaxy phone.
Tap on the supplementary services and among the options shown to you is the call barring.
Tap on call barring to open and you will see both outgoing call and incoming calls.
As you’re looking for the reason and causes of incoming call cuts after one ring, you have to look for incoming calls.
You have to make sure that you didn’t enable call barring on incoming calls just like on the picture below;
Make sure that the all incoming calls button is not enabled just like on the above picture. And if it is enabled, then be rest assured that it is the reason why you are having the problem of your phone rings twice then cuts off.

3. The caller wants you to call back
This is very weird and annoying but it does happen, someone trying to save his or her minutes and instead of calling you, he or she will pretend to call you and end the call after one ring just for you to call back.
Normally you will see this type of call as a missed call on your mobile phone, and this type of call won’t go to the voicemail because the caller didn’t allow the call to ring complete before hanging up.
Definitely you will see it as a missed call and call back immediately not knowing that the caller is being mischievous and wanted you to call so as to save it’s phone minutes.
4. The caller dialed a wrong number
This is another good reason why you may be having the problem of phone rings twice then hangs up especially if it doesn’t happen very often.
The incoming call you saw on your phone was a mistake, the caller must have mistakenly dialed your number and having realized he or she dialed a wrong number, the call will be ended right away.
However, this is so if you happen to see this occur once for a particular contact on your mobile phone. If it happens very often, it wasn’t a mistake but someone is doing it on purpose.
Phone rings several times then hangs up
This is a strong indication that the recipient is ignoring your calls and doesn’t want to answer the call especially if the recipient didn’t activate voicemail on it’s mobile phone.
You can chose to send a text message to the recipient and inquire why your calls are being ignored or wait for few hours and use another phone number to call the recipient.
Does 2 rings mean your blocked?
Two rings doesn’t necessarily mean blocked as it may also be caused by a poor network reception. However, if you try to call the number on different occasions and same thing happened then likely you have been blocked by the recipient.
You can use another phone number to call the recipient and see if it will go through.
