Low battery mode or low power mode is a phone feature or tool which help to maximize and preserve the number of power left in a particular phone battery, after the phone battery has gone too low and which is usually 20%.
Low power mode isn’t new and since the days of Nokia Java phones, Symbian and Belle phone I’ve seen the low power mode feature.
On iphone it is called low power mode, while on android and other mobile phones it is called power saver or power saving mode. But kindly note that they are all the same without any difference whatsoever.

Now what the low power mode on iphone and iPad does is to reduce features like email fetch, background app refresh, automatic downloads, some visual effects like animations, screen brightness, etc.
Aside from these, your iPhone or iPad will automatically lock after 30 seconds if you’re not actively using your iPhone or iPad, and iCloud Photos will be temporarily paused.
These are typically what Low power mode does on iphone and iPad.
Once you start to charge your iPhone or iPad, low power mode will still be turned on but immediately the battery percentage reaches 80%, it will automatically turn off on it’s own.

On android, I enabled the power mode to always and optimized so as to get the best battery optimization for my android phone.
