Imessage will let you know when the recipient has opened and read the sent messages which is not possible on mms messaging.
Because of imessage I don’t see the reason and the need to turn on mms messaging on iphone while there is imessage.
Whatsapp messenger: On iphone whatsapp messenger comes in handy when sending messages to android users. Just like the imessage, you can use whatsapp to send any type files on your iPhone with the only being that whatsapp compress the files which reduces picture and video quality sent through whatsapp.
Others includes Skype messenger, Facebook messenger, telegram, Google voice and Google duo, etc.
Why use mms messaging?
You can only use mms messaging if you want to go old fashioned way as we now have instant messaging apps and services that are way better compared to mms messaging, and thy include imessage, rcs chat feature, whatsapp, Skype, Facebook messenger, Telegram, etc.
If you want to feel nostalgic and feel old fashioned, you can chose to send mms messages but there are some networks that have stopped supporting mms messaging because of the instant messaging apps and services we have right now.
