iMessage says delivered but phone is off
If imessage says delivered but phone is off then it means that the recipient apple ID is connected to other devices like iPad, Mac or the ipod and this makes the imessage to get delivered.
Imessage is very much different from other instant messaging services like whatsapp, Skype, Facebook messenger, telegram, etc because once you connect your apple ID to a multiple device and imessage is active on these devices, it will get delivered irrespective of the fact your iPhone is switched off.
For example: You have both the iPhone and Mac computer and your Apple ID is connected to these two devices, then Imessage is active on both your iPhone and your mac computer.
Now if your iPhone is switched off while your Mac computer is on and running with an active internet connection, and someone sent an imessage to you, the imessage will be received in your Mac computer.
Immediately you have received the imessage it will indicate delivered on the side of the sender irrespective of the fact your iPhone is switched off.
This usually gets some people confused as to why imessage says delivered but calls won’t go through. It’s so simple and that is because the recipient connected it’s apple ID to multiple devices and they are active whilst the recipient iphone is switched off.
