Many a time we don’t feel the need to remain in a whatsapp group especially if we are bored of the group, leaving the group is so easy but sometimes we may want to retain messages on the group and wouldn’t want them get deleted from our whatsapp account.
This leads to the question we have here, if you leave a WhatsApp group can you still read the messages.
If you leave a WhatsApp group can you still read the messages?
Definitely not. Once you leave a WhatsApp group, you cannot read new messages as you are no longer a participant in the WhatsApp group.
Only the participants are able to read new WhatsApp group messages.
However, you can still see and read the old messages from before you left the group. But as far as receiving new messages from the group, that will never be possible since you are no longer a participant.

Afterwards, if the group administrator wants to add you back to the group, it wouldn’t take 10 seconds to do that, and you’re good to go.
If I leave a WhatsApp group can I still see new messages?
No, I’m sorry, you can’t see new messages immediately after you leave a WhatsApp group. You can only see the old messages before you left or exited the WhatsApp group.
If you wish to see new messages, you will have to ask or request the group administrator to add you back to the group that you left by mistake. Then, you will be able to receive and see new messages from the WhatsApp group.

If you want to continue receiving messages from a WhatsApp group, then you should know that there’s no reason or need to leave the group. If you leave the group, then it simply means no new messages from the group will be sent to your WhatsApp account.

This works by default, although I have seen a place where they discussed leaving a WhatsApp group quietly so that the participating group members would never notice.

What happens if you clear a WhatsApp group chat?
You will entirely lose the chats forever unless you backed up your WhatsApp chat before clearing the WhatsApp group chats.
However, you will still be able to receive new WhatsApp group chats from the participants or members, although old members will be gone.
If you feel that you have too many WhatsApp group chats and they are not useful to you, you can go ahead and clear the chats. This does not mean leaving the group or deleting the WhatsApp group from your WhatsApp account.
