Why can’t I force stop google play services on my android?
Trying to disable or force stop the google play services on android is quite impossible on the first trial as it is always greyed out.
Being greyed out means you can’t disable or force stop the google play services from your android phone.
This can be a lot frustrating if you want to disable or force stop the app though I don’t see the reason to disable the play services as it is very compulsory for android users.
Using a Huawei phone without a play services is very frustrating especially as Google apps and some other apps that requires the play services couldn’t open or work properly.
So you need to be very careful while trying to disable or force stop the google play services on your android phone.
Now let’s proceed to what we have here, why can’t I force stop google play services.
Why can’t I force stop google play services?
The reason why you can’t force stop the google play services on your android phone is because the play services app is a system app and requires to be active on android phone.
Aside from Huawei phones that no longer support the google play services, every other Android phone should have the google play services active and running.
Why you can’t force stop google play services on android phone is major because of the fact that the Android phone needs the google play services for most of the apps to function properly.
If you succeeded in disabling or force stop the google play services, you will see there are apps that will stop working on your android phone.
For example, when i disabled the google play services on my older Android phone, most of my apps stopped functioning including my whatsapp.
However, it is very much impossible to disable or force stop google play services on android phones running around 6.0 upwards.

How to force stop or disable the Google play services
Older versions of Android phones can easily force stop or disable the Google play services on their phone, but recent Android phones finds it very much difficult to do.
This is why questions like why can’t I force stop google play services pops up on the internet. When you try to click on the force stop or disable button, you will notice that it is greyed out and can’t be clicked.
There are ways which you can succeed in force stopping the google play services or even disabling the app though I don’t recommend such cause you will have issues with your android phone.
To disable google play services on older android phone, you have to open the settings app and scroll down apps depending on your brand.
Open apps and search for Google play services, upon seeing the Google play services, open it and tap on the hamburger menu.
The hamburger menu is the three dots at the top right corner of your screen. Tap on the menu and you will see uninstall updates.
Tap and uninstall updates from the Google play services, and afterwards you will be able to disable or force stop the app. Look below your screen and tap on disable or force stop, accept the warning notice and click OK to force stop the google play services on your android phone.
For the new android phones or Android phones running from Android 6.0 upwards, this is very much difficult unless you have to root your phone.
This works very well but I don’t recommend it especially if you’re a newbie. I have seen lots of people brick their android phones in the process of removing system apps from their phone.
The process I’m talking about is using adb and Debloater Tool to disable system apps like the google play services and other system apps.
You might end up destroying your phone in this process and as we are focused on the Google play services or why can’t I force stop google play services, I won’t recommend that to you cause the google play services is very much essential on android phone.
Can I turn off Google Play services?
You cannot turn off Google play services on your android phone unless you rooted your phone and removed bloatware from your android phone.
However, if your android phone is not rooted, there’s no way you can turn off, force stop or disable the Google play services especially on newer Android phones.
This is pain on the neck but it is the reality though I don’t see the reason why one would want to force stop or turn off the google play services as the app is very important to android phone.
What will happen if you disable or force stop google play services
If you successfully rooted your android phone, and use adb or the Debloater Tool to disable or force stop the google play services from your android phone, you will experience these problems.
1. All the google apps like the google chrome browser, YouTube app, Google maps and drive, Google play store and the Gmail app, Google photos, Ok Google (Google assistant), etc will stop functioning including some apps on your android phone that requires the play services to function.
2. Your android phone will start to misbehave because it is built in such a way that Google play services must be active. I noticed that some other apps like whatsapp, photo editing app for android, and a lot of Android games like the fifa EA sports will no longer function.
You don’t have to bother yourself with this question of why can’t I force stop google play services cause the play services is very important on android phone unless you’re using a Huawei phone.
