Airplane mode, a feature that helps to put a mobile phone, tablet, laptop and the smartwatch in an offline mode.
When you have airplane mode enabled on your device, you won’t have people bother you with calls and text messages. If you don’t fancy silent mode or the do not disturb mode, you can use airplane mode on your device.
As airplane mode is very much helpful in a device, one of the question being asked about the flight mode is;
Does airplane mode damage your phone?
The simple answer is no. Airplane mode does not damage a phone but rather it prevent wireless connection in a device especially on mobile devices.
When you have airplane mode enabled on your cell phone or smartphone like the iPhone or the Android phone, it will automatically put your phone into an offline mode by turning off all wireless connections in your smartphone.
This same goes with smartwatch that has airplane mode.
Talking about does airplane mode damage your phone, the truth is that airplane helps to cool down a heated device as it disables all sort of connections that will heat up a device.
For example, if you are playing an online game for hours and suddenly you find out that your phone has heated up so massively to the extent it looks as if it will explode, if you immediately enable airplane mode it will help to cool off the phone within fifteen minutes.
Now let me explain the benefits derived from having your phone in flight mode.
Benefits of airplane mode in a smartphone
Below are some of the main benefits derived from having airplane mode on your smartphone and even on your computer.
1. Airplane mode helps the phone to charge faster:
There’s no doubt that airplane mode helps the phone to charge faster as I myself have experienced it several times on my smartphones.
If you want to have your smartphone charge at speed rate compared to normal charging or fast charging, kindly enable airplane mode on your device and you are good to go.
Now if your phone supports fast charging and which usually charge from 20% to 50% under 10 minutes, airplane mode will make the phone to charge from 20% to 50% under 7 minutes or even under 6 minutes.
I’m saying this based ony experience charging my Samsung phones on airplane. However, I didn’t notice so much different on my iPhone 11 pro max or maybe a different of one minute.
2. Airplane mode save battery on mobile phone
That’s the truth and not a myth or fallacy.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you should always have your cell phone on airplane mode cause it literally means that you will miss lots of calls and text messages.
Talking about saving your phone battery on airplane mode, this comes in handy during the night or probably you find yourself in a remote area where there is no means of charging your phone.
If your battery percentage is 25% and you wouldn’t want the battery to go flat and no means of charging your phone, simply put the phone on airplane mode and it wouldn’t drop a percentage.
How is this possible?
Now let me explain a bit more on airplane mode.

As airplane mode disables all wireless connections like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular network service and cellular data, this helps to save battery on your smartphone even if you have apps running in background.
Once you have Wi-Fi, cellular data and cellular network service active on your phone, definitely the phone battery will be dropping little by little. But with airplane mode enabled, it will automatically prevent thar from happening especially disabling cellular network service.
