How to send videos without losing quality on iPhone & Android

This post will guide you through on how to send videos without losing quality on your iPhone, and Android phone, and all it takes is just an internet connection.

There are so many apps that offer this, but I’m looking for a free application that helps send videos from one device to another without losing video quality, no matter the location.

So, let’s jump in.

How to send videos without losing quality on iPhone & Android

How to send videos without losing quality

To send quality videos on Android and iOS without losing quality and for free, I recommend using WhatsApp, iMessage, or a file-hosting site.

First, I will start with Android, explaining ways to send videos without losing quality on Android phones and tablets.

On Android

On Android, i have three methods for you and which includes;

  1. By using whatsapp.
  2. By using Google drive.
  3. By using a file hosting site.

1. By using whatsapp

On Android, WhatsApp is one of the best apps for sending videos and photos from one phone to another, regardless of distance, as long as you have an active internet connection.

I know many of you will argue that WhatsApp doesn’t send high-quality videos and photos because it compresses the files.

However, you can send high-quality videos and photos on WhatsApp without losing quality by sending them as documents.

If you send videos or photos on WhatsApp as documents, WhatsApp does not compress the file, and this helps retain the file’s quality.

So, if you want to send videos without losing quality on WhatsApp, simply send the file as a document.

Mind you, it won’t change the file format or the file itself. The video will be sent as a video, and the same goes for photos.

All you have to do is open WhatsApp on your Android phone and locate the contact you want to send the file to.

Tap on the attachment icon inside the message box, as shown below.

Locate the file or video on your phone and tap the send button.

The video will be sent to the recipient without any loss of quality.

2. By using Google drive

Google Drive is another method for sending videos on Android without losing video quality.

Upload the video to your Google Drive account, send the download link to the recipient, and they will be able to download it.

The video quality will remain the same and nothing will be reduced.

If you own an android phone, you should have a Google account as long as you’re using your Android phone.

3. By using a file hosting site

This is one of the best methods for sending high-quality, very large video files.

Google Drive may be limited to a certain file size, but these file hosting sites allow you to upload large files even as a free account user.

Once you upload the file to any file-hosting site, copy and share the link with the recipient to download the file. For file-hosting sites, we have MediaFire, Dropbox, Mega, etc.

On iOS

It’s so easy to send videos on iOS or iPhone without losing video quality, and you may not need a third-party app.

The following options are available for iOS users;

  1. iMessage
  2. WhatsApp
  3. File hosting site

1. iMessage

The most popular method for iOS users, especially if the file is not too large, is iMessage file sharing, though it has a limit.

It is not new that iMessage does not reduce the quality of photos or videos sent or received, and this is why many iPhone users prefer to share them using iMessage.

However, the limit may not be appealing to many, especially if you want to send a large video.

This won’t be an option for you because the iMessage file limit is 100 MB, which is way too low compared to WhatsApp.

This is the main reason I always prefer to use WhatsApp to send my files, and WhatsApp is very popular in Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Even in America, WhatsApp is popular, though iMessage is mostly used in North America.

Don’t Miss:

2. WhatsApp

On iPhone, you can send high-quality videos via WhatsApp, and i prefer it to iMessage because iMessage maximum file limit is 100 MB.

With WhatsApp, you can send files up to a maximum size of 2GB.

Remember to send high-quality videos or photos via WhatsApp using the file document option; otherwise, the video or photo will be compressed, reducing the display quality.

3. File hosting site

The third option you have is to use any of the file-hosting sites like Dropbox or Mediafire. Even Google Drive would be a good option, but you must have a Google account and Google Drive.

Afterwards, share the link with the recipient.

There are lot’s of file hosting sites, both free and paid, simply use Google or Bing to find them but i prefer Dropbox in this case, MediaFire, Mega file, etc.

When it comes to how to send videos without losing quality on iPhone and Android, I simply use these options, especially WhatsApp. But if the file size exceeds WhatsApp’s file limit, I use a preferred file hosting site like Dropbox, MediaFire, or Google Drive.

It only requires me to upload the file to these sites, copy the download link, and send the link to the recipient to download the file.
