1. The processor and chipset
The iPhone 14 and other iPhone 14 series came with the Apple A15 Bionic chipset which is still very relevant and good in 2025.
The. Chipset is very powerful and fast though can’t be compared with the latest Apple A18 Pro.
However, the Apple A18 Pro is slightly better especially if you’re into mobile gaming.
So, in terms of processor and chipset, the Apple A15 Bionic still performs strongly, making the iPhone 14 series worthwhile in 2025.
Where you will encounter some small challenges when gaming, and I’m talking about AAA games like Sniper Elite 4 and Resident Evil 2.
These two games are not supported on any of the iPhone 14 series, while Grid Legends Deluxe is supported on iPhone 14 pro and the pro max thanks to their 8GB RAM.
However, the Apple A15 Bionic supports many iOS games except for these two, or perhaps three AAA games.
If you are into mobile gaming, I might advise you not to choose any of the iPhone 14 series due to some AAA games being restricted on Apple A15 Bionic chipset.

For iPhones, this wasn’t a problem until the Grid Legends Deluxe Edition was released. A good number of iPhones were not supported, including the iPhone 14 series.
However, that doesn’t mean the 6GB RAM on the iphone 14 isn’t good. The phone is very fast compared to many Android phones, including some high-end android phones.
So it was quite surprising when the Grid Legends Deluxe Edition was released and only iPhones with 8GB of RAM were supported.
Both iPhones and iPads with 8GB of RAM only.
So the iPhone 14 series was left out.
Again, if you are not into mobile gaming, this shouldn’t bother you at all, and I recommend going for a console like the Switch or a PC handheld.

4. Camera
Okay so this isn’t that much of a thing, but to some people, it means a lot to them.
I’m talking about the camera and its features.
There good number of persons that frequently upgrade their phone because of the camera. Once they feel that the recently released iPhone camera is way better, they don’t hesitate to upgrade their phone.
So, in terms of cameras, I tell you that the iPhone 14 series, especially the iPhone Pro Max, is still very good for photos and videos.
Not much difference with the iPhone 16 series.
If you love taking photos and videos, the iPhone 14 series, especially the iPhone 14 Pro Max, is still a good option, especially at the current price.
Generally, I recommend this phone, especially the iPhone 14 Pro Max, as its design is similar to the iPhone 16 series and looks modern.
Gaming Experience
Gaming on the iPhone 14 is still very good, but some games are restricted.
I’ve mentioned this in this article.
There are tons of games you can play on iPhone 14 including a good number of AAA games.
But since 2024, some AAA games released on the App Store have been restricted to iPhone 14 series and below.
These games includes the followings;
- Resident Evil 2
- Grid Legends Deluxe Edition
- Sniper Elite 4
These are good AAA games, but they are restricted to iPhone 14 series and below.
However, you can find these games on consoles like the Nintendo switch, Playstation console, pc and oc handheld.
But if you are into mobile gaming and want to experience AAA games on your iPhone, consider the iPhone 15 or 16 series instead of the iPhone 14 series.
On iPhone 14 series, you can play games like Assassin’s Creed Mirage, NBA2K Arcade Edition, pubg mobile, Genshin impact, Call of duty mobile, etc.
What you should know buying iPhone 14 in 2025
Below are the things you should consider while opting to buy the iPhone 14 or its series in 2025.
- You won’t be able to buy a brand new iPhone 14 series from apple stores or website. However, you may see iPhone 14, but the likes of 14 pro and the pro max won’t be available.
- Buying a renewed premium iPhone 14 is best option in terms of cost.
As Apple released the iPhone 16 series late last year, you may not see any iPhone 14 series on Apple’s website or in Apple Stores.
If you happen to see any, it will be iPhone 14.
This might make you consider buying from other stores, especially Amazon or eBay.
