When you buy a new cell phone or samsung phone and which you want to import or transfer your notes from your old phone to the new phone, how do you go about it.
Or maybe when you installed the Samsung notes app and reinstalled it and looking to retrieve your samsung notes.
This is what this post is all about.
Explaining the best way to import samsung notes to your new sor old samsung phone or even to your computer. It’s so easy and simple without any long process.

How to import samsung notes
To import samsung notes on your phone or computer, first you need to synchronize the Samsung notes with samsung cloud, and on the new device install the samsung notes app and sign in using your samsung account. Tap on the menu option >> settings>> import notes and select samsung account.
In a more detailed explanation let me show you how to import samsung notes.
1. OPEN SAMSUNG NOTES APP: This is the first and foremost to do, open the Samsung note app on your phone and tap on the option menu which is the three horizontal line and which is at the left corner of your screen.
2. SYNCHRONIZE SAMSUNG NOTES:
As you tapped on the option menu, you will see a settings icon at the top. Go ahead and tap on the settings icon and the first two options you will see are;
- Sync with samsung cloud.
- Sync to Microsoft onenote.
For this guide on how to import samsung notes, you will have to select Sync with samsung cloud. Please make sure you signed into the Samsung notes app using your samsung account.
Tap on Sync with samsung cloud and on the next window you will have to enable synchronization by turning on the button just like on the picture below.
If you are using mobile make sure to select SYNC USING Wi-Fi or mobile data. If you left it on just Wi-Fi then bear in mind that your samsung notes won’t get synchronized.
Once you are done with that, tap on Sync now and within a matter of seconds or a few minutes depending on the size of your samsung notes, they will be synchronized with samsung cloud. You will see the total size of the synchronized notes data and the last synced date and time.
Note: If the notes data shows 0kb this shows that you notes haven’t been synchronized and you should tap on tap on sync now until everything is successful.
3. IMPORTING SAMSUNG NOTES: Now that you have successfully synchronized your samsung notes with samsung cloud account, you are set importing the notes files to your new samsung or android phone or even on your computer.
On your new phone or computer, download and install Samsung notes app and open notes app. Make sure to sign in using your samsung account or samsung cloud account where you synchronized your samsung notes.
Once you have done that, tap on the menu option (the the horizontal line at the left corner of your screen) and tap on setting icon.
Now look closely you will see where it states Import notes just like on the picture below.
Tap on import notes and in the option that states import notes from SAMSUNG NOTES, below it kindly select samsung account and it will display all your samsung notes in your samsung account.
Select all the notes files and tap on the import button or done.
It wouldn’t take more than 30 seconds all your notes will be imported though it depends on the total size of the notes.
Import samsung notes from the phone
If you want to uninstall your samsung notes or bought a new phone and wants to import all your samsung notes to the new phone or your old phone, I recommend you to create a new folder in your phone internal storage and save all the Samsung notes inside the folder.
Getting started.
Open your phone and locate the internal storage or SD card. Now you have to create a new folder and name the folder samsung notes or any of your preferred names and save the folder.
Open the Samsung notes app and select all the entire notes files in the app and tap on the three vertical line button.
Tapping on the option menu gives you list of options and which includes save as file. Tap on the save as file and select samsung notes file.
If you select any other file format you can’t import the Samsung notes into the notes app unless you will have open the files one after the other using the samsung notes app and afterwards save the notes files on the notes app.
To save yourself from this type of long process, kindly save the notes as samsung notes file.
In your internal storage locate the folder you created for the notes files and save the Samsung notes files inside the folder.
This is the first phase now moving onto the second phase.
THE SECOND PHASE
Transfer all the Samsung notes app to your new phone if that is the case. Now open the the Samsung notes app, tap on the menu option and tap on the settings icon.
Tap on import notes, the first option you will see is samsung notes and below it is import from Phone.
Kindly tap on phone, wait for it to load, select my device by ticking on it and tapping on done, and it will display all the saved samsung notes in your phone internal storage.
Select all the notes and tap on done.
Immediately it will import the notes into your samsung notes app. And you are good to go.
This is the second method I use when it comes to import samsung notes into my phone or probably samsung notes app when I bought a new samsung phone or uninstalled and reinstalled the Samsung notes app on my phone.
How to import samsung notes to onenote
To import samsung notes to onenote, open the Samsung note app on your phone and tap on the option menu which is the three horizontal line and which is at the left corner of your screen.
You will see a settings icon at the top. Go ahead and tap on the settings icon, and tap on Sync to Microsoft onenote. Make sure to enable it on your samsung notes app and finally tap on Sync now. Within few seconds to minutes it will synchronize your samsung notes to Microsoft onenote.
Remember to select Wi-Fi and mobile data if your internet connection is a cellular data.
