Is iphone 11 good for gaming 2024? Explained

You don’t have the fund to go for the latest iPhone and maybe would prefer to go for a older iPhone like the iPhone 11 series in 2024.

Now the question will be how reliable it will be for you in 2024 especially when it comes to gaming, and when I say gaming I mean to say high end mobile games.

This brings us to the question of the day and which is, is iphone 11 good for gaming 2024.

Hmmm, I love this question especially if you’re the type that plays a high end mobile games like we have call of Duty warzone, pubg mobile, or even the likes of Resident evil which is now available in Appstore.

I will explain this based on my experience but I want to assure you that the iPhone 11 is still a great phone in 2024.

Lets proceed.

is iphone 11 good for gaming 2024

Is iphone 11 good for gaming 2024?

Absolutely yes. The iPhone 11 is still very good for gaming and this also includes high end mobile games as the iPhone 11 A13 Bionic chip is still powerful.

However, it can be compared to the Apple A17 Pro which is very powerful and can play any AAA games thrown at it.

As this topic focuses on the gaming aspect or the iPhone 11, let me explain more of the processor like the RAM, and GPU capabilities as it is very essential for high end mobile games.

But if you’re a casual gamer, you don’t need to bother yourself at all simply go get the phone.

The iPhone 11 Chipset

The iPhone 11 features Apple’s A13 Bionic chip, a powerhouse built on a 7-nanometer process, it represents the pinnacle game of Apple’s silicon design, offering remarkable performance and efficiency.

The A13 Bionic integrates a hexa-core CPU, comprising two high-performance cores and four energy-efficient cores.

Thus, it allows for seamless multitasking and optimal power management, ensuring a smooth user experience while maximizing battery life.

In addition to the CPU, the A13 Bionic features a quad-core GPU, and this delivers an impressive graphical performance, ideal for gaming and multimedia applications.

But the truth is that the Apple A13 Bionic was released in September 2019, this year will make it five good years, and can the Apple A13 Bionic chip handle heavy games.

The answer is yes though not all games.

I tried to play resident evil 4 which is available on Appstore on my old iPhone 11, but it wasn’t available for iPhone 11 and all the 11 series.

The resident evil 4 mobile game wasn’t compatible with iPhone 11.

I was even a lot surprised that the game wasn’t available for my iPhone 14 pro max as well as it is stated that it is available for a device with the A17 Pro Chip or later (currently available in the newly released iPhone 15 Pro), as well as iOS 17.0 or later.

Resident evil 4

However, it is available for my iPad which is the iPad pro M1 and it played very well without issues.

But that shouldn’t demoralize you because the likes of pubg mobile, call of Duty warzone, Blood Strike, etc plays very well on the iPhone 11.

For call of Duty Warzone;

Yes, call of Duty warzone played very fantastic on iPhone 11 without lagging, but you can’t set it to the highest frame rates else the  might lag a little bit.

The call of Duty Warzone requires Android devices with at least 4 GB of RAM and running Android Adreno 618+. And for ios, the Warzone Mobile is compatible with Apple devices running iOS 16.0 or later with at least 3 GB of RAM

PUBG Mobile requires a minimum of 1GB RAM, Apple A8 chipset, iOS 9, and a 4 GB space

The RAM

The iPhone 11 features a 4GB RAM which isn’t bad for an iPhone, but I will say it will be low for high graphics games as time goes on especially now we have AAA games been released on mobile phones.

So far, the phone is very fast without issues when gaming, but not the case when playing resident evil because at one point it will lag.

For Battery Life

The iPhone 11 battery isn’t so fantastic like the iPhone 11 pro max, but what I like is that it doesn’t heat up so easily.

Playing call of Duty Warzone on Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra heats up within 10 minutes of gameplay, but that’s not the case with iPhone 11.

It heats up but not so fast, but the truth is that the battery doesn’t last long while playing an online high graphics games.

That’s what I noticed.

The screen display and resolution

The iPhone 11 has a 6.1 inches screen display, with w screen resolution of 828 x 1792 pixels which isn’t bad.

But for me, the screen size my be small for a landscape games for me.

Since I’ve been gaming on my iPad and Samsung tab, I no longer fancy gaming on my phone except for subway surfers or some casual games that is not in landscape mode.

The gaming experience on iPad is a lot better compared to iPhones thanks to the screen display and the audio quality which is better on iPad especially the iPad pro versions.

If you love gaming

Now listen, if you love gaming especially mobile gaming and wants to get the best out of it, 8 recommend you buying an iPad especially the M1 iPad even if you go for renewed M1 iPad.

iPad gaming experience

There are lots of good quality renewed iPads or premium renewed iPads you will find on Amazon.

Definitely it will be good for you to go for at least an M1 apple iPad as it is very powerful and good for gaming.

It you can afford the M2 apple iPad, good for you as well though the brand new is quite pricey unless you go for a renewed model.

I recommend these for you;

Buying iPhone 11 in 2024

There’s no harm buying the iPhone 11 in 2024 because it will be supported in 2024 even till 2025.

So that shouldn’t bother you if you don’t have the fund to get the iPhone 13, but the truth is that I will recommend you to buy iPhone 12 instead of iPhone 11.

The iPhone 12 is likely to get support till 2026, so for me it will be better compared to iPhone 11.

And that’s all I to say in this topic of the day is iphone 11 good for gaming 2024, and I say yes. You can play high quality games on iPhone as the Apple A13 Bionic chip set is still strong in 2024.
