Once you enable airplane mode on your phone be it iPhone or android phone, it will automatically disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular network service. Now it is left for you to pull down the notification bar or the control panel and turn on both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
You can also go to the settings app and open connection, turn on both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
You will noticed that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi will be turned on but that is not possible for cellular network and cellular data. They will be greyed out or not clickable until you turn off or disable airplane mode on your phone.
Does bluetooth work in airplane mode on iPhone?
On iPhone, Bluetooth will definitely work in airplane mode but you will have to manually turn on bluetooth after airplane mode turned it off.
Same goes to android phone or any other device like the Apple watch, Samsung Galaxy watch, Fitbit, etc. By default airplane mode will automatically disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but after simply pull down the notification bar or the control panel and turn on both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
If your means of internet connectivity or using the internet is through cellular data, I’m very sorry as this literally means that you can’t use internet when your phone is on airplane mode.

To enable or turn on Bluetooth when on airplane, simply pull down the control panel and you will see bluetooth among the list of options presented to you.
Go ahead and turn on bluetooth and you are good to go.
Another method is to open the settings app and among the first five options you will see, bluetooth is among them. Tap on Bluetooth to open and go ahead to turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone.

To enable or turn on Bluetooth on android phone simply pull down the notification bar and you will see Bluetooth. Go ahead and turn on bluetooth on your android phone.

To use Bluetooth headphone on airplane mode, you simply have to turn on Bluetooth on your phone and turn on the Bluetooth headphone and you are good to go.
It came to my notice that some do think thar you can’t use Bluetooth headphone while on airplane mode but that’s not the case as you can use Bluetooth headphone even when your phone is on airplane mode.
As long as Bluetooth can be enabled when on airplane mode, you can use any Bluetooth device with your phone and this includes Bluetooth speaker, headphones, airpods, etc.

Airplane mode disable Bluetooth by default as Bluetooth is among wireless connection which is affected by airplane mode.
Airplane mode was introduced based on the fact that airlines prohibit wireless devices on airplanes, especially when taking off and landing. Instead of switching off the phone you simply have to put your phone in offline mode and which is by enabling airplane mode on your device.
However, there is a debate on whether phones could actually interfere with the radio equipment in planes, but most think it’s best to be on the safer side by enabling airplane mode on devices during takeoff or landing.

The answer is yes. Bluetooth do work without internet as it requires internet connection to work or transfer files from one phone to another.
As long as Bluetooth is concerned, it doesn’t need internet connection even when trying to pair your Bluetooth headphone or smartwatch. Internet connection is not needed at all as internet has no business with business with Bluetooth.
